Straight Street has been serving at-risk youth at their current location (807 Austin Street) for over 10 years. In that time, the organization has helped over 10,000 at risk young people in our community. The crucial intervention for these teens has included providing a safe area for entertainment, exercise, and activities; a secure environment to nurture healthy relationships and habits; as siting them with education and training to reach their full potential; and leading them to God’s divine plan for them to live fulfilled lives.

The Board of Directors was faced with the choice of renovating the upstairs of the current facility, which is a very old structure, or secrugin other properties to better accommodate the growing population of teens needing their help and guidance. The decision was made to start a Capital Campaign for a new and more appropriate space. There are three structures in downtown Wichita Falls that would provide more appropriate space for staff, a larger teen center, and safer activity space for basketball and football. These buildings will beed some construction to make them contiguous and efficient for Straight Street’s purpose.

Below are the costs associated with acquiring these properties and the construction needed:

  • BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS: $340,000

CONTINGENCY: $65,000
  • NEW WORKSHOP BUILDING: $120,000
